The Sodana are a lupine race of partial shapeshifters. They are one of the original five sapient races, and are friendly with the other four.

Shapeshifting
- Despite being able to shapeshift, many Sodana aren't that good at it. It is an art inherent to every Sodana, but like most art, it can take a lifetime of practice to master. If a Sodana does practice shifting, they usually stick to one or two forms, usually of the races they find appealing.
- Shapeshifting on the fly as the occasion calls for it (an extra arm, a longer jaw, etc.) is known as "Free-shifting" and is incredibly difficult, and almost no Sodana practice it. It is usually only done by Sodana in more dangerous jobs, like guards, highway patrol, and law enforcement.

Crest
Every Sodana has a Coat of Arms or Crest, and they function as a type of ID badge among other Sodana.
Career
Sodana are usually found in jobs and positions where they can actively make the world a better place. Sodana tend to have a strong sense of justice, though what "justice" means varies wildly from Sodana to Sodana. Common jobs include (but are not limited to):
- Guards
- Judges
- Lawmakers
- Public Servants
Cosmic Luminescence
Sodana fur is naturally a solid color, and any markings, patterns, or discolorations are actually how their cosmic luminescence is expressed. These markings are not inherited, but seem to be random. The markings do not change when a Sodana shapeshifts, and are usually the first indicator that one is dealing with a transformed Sodana. If a Sodana shapeshifts into something lacking an analogous body part for their markings, the markings will appear on the closest available location.
The coloration of their markings is one that resonates with them, and may even change over time.
If a Sodana obtains a body part they do not naturally have, it will be the color of their cosmic luminescence. (Scales, feathers, beaks, etc.)
Lifespan
Sodanans were formerly the longest-living race, living to be about three-hundred years old on average. With the development of the ageless vaccine, which unfortunately does not work on Sodana, they are now the shortest-lived race.
Before the development of the ageless vaccine, the Sodana lived the longest at around three-hundred years. Unfortunately, the vaccine has no effect on the Sodana, making them now the shortest-lived race. They generally do not mind this, instead using their "short" lifespans as an excuse to not sit idle. Many Sodana wish to leave the world a better place than it was when they lived.
